Why is there no CGI-BIN folder in my
web directory?
Your cobalt virtual server allows you
to place your CGI files in any directory and there is no need to
create a "cgi-bin" directory, simply ensure to set the folders
properties to "751" (CHMOD command).

What is the path of my default web
directory for my domain?
Personal web dir is
/users/your_name/web

My CGI's won't work, what went wrong?
- Make sure to have CHMOD your CGI's to
the correct value (e.g.:751).
- Upload your CGI files as "text" file via FTP.
- Your CGI file extension must be either ".pl" or ".cgi".
- Your cobalt virtual server allows you to place your CGI files in
any directory (there is no need to create a "cgi-bin" directory,
simply ensure to set the folders properties to "751" (CHMOD

My ASP scripts won't work, what went
wrong?
Unlike CGI scripts, ASP do not require
execute permissions to work correctly. For the Web Server to run the
scripts correctly, ASP scripts must use the .asp filename

How can I add a mailing list?

On
the Site Management, click List Management. The
Mailing List table appears.

Click Add Mailing List. The Add Mailing List table appear.

Enter a name for the mailing list.
-
Enter a password for the mailing list. (optional).
-
Allow User Subscriptions to List. Ticking this box allows the
alias(external recipient) to subscribe or unsubscribe to the list.
-
Allow Unsubscribed Posting to List. This check box MUST BE
ticked for any mail(mail from any sender) to be send to the alias
(external recipient). You
are advised to tick the 2nd checkbox. By doing so...all mails send
to the external recipient can be retrieved.

To
add external receipients to the mailing list, enter the email
addresses in the "External Recipients" field. To include existing
registered site users in list, click the username in the scrolling
window. To select all the registered site users, click Select All.

Click Confirm New Mailing List.
The list management is actually for mailing list group but can act
as Email Alias for external email addressess.

While trying to access the "siteadmin"
I get "ERROR 700 -- The proxy-cache server is not configurated
properly for SSL ..." What is wrong?
Exclude your domain name from using a
proxy server. Here a example if using IE4.0 or above:

Go
to "Tools" -> "Internet Options"

Click on "Connections"
-
Choose your connection (Dial-Up or LAN)
-
Choose "settings" and select the "advanced tab" to access the
"proxy" option.

Enter your domain name (e.g. www.mydomain.com) in the exceptions
box.

What version of Perl is supported on
your Windows 2000 hosting server?
Our servers are all installed with
ActivePerl Win32-Alpha/Intel built 6.16.
Our Perl is located in C:\perl\bin.
Our servers are installed with ActivePerl from
ActiveState.

How can I make use of your ColdFusion
Server?
ColdFusion is available on all our NT based servers. Our Windows
2000 hosting support ColdFusion. You will need to upload your CFM

My cgi's don't run on your server,
help!
In order to run your cgi's on our
server you need to ensure that:
- your account has custom bin access.
- your cgi files are perl files (*.pl)
- your perl files are for NT based servers.
- You know the correct path to your folders. (e.g.:
i:\usr\domain_name\bin\custom\) (back

Does your server support SSI scripts?
YES
our servers support SSI scripts on your webpages; however you need
to rename your html files to *.shtml in order to get your
"server side include" scripts executed on your html pages. (back

I have uploaded my perl files for Windows 2000
hosting,
but they won't work.
Please ensure that:
- You have the correct DOS path (e.g.:
i:\usr\whatever\bin\custom).
- Your file extension are "pl" or "cgi". File names ending
with pl and cgi are associated with Perl.
- You have uploaded your scripts in text mode (not
binary mode).
- Your "../bin/custom folder has been activated. (back

I would like to upload my cgi files,
however my FTP account does not allow me to, what went wrong?
You must have your /CUSTOM folder
activated. Please contact our Administrator for further details on
your access rules. You may only upload files ending with *.pl or
.cgi (perl files). The following file extensions are not valid: exe,

May I use a different file extension
for my virtual server?
All new accounts created support multiple index support. You upload
either "index.htm, index.html, index.shtml (required for SSI) or
